Hello, While my name is Shaweta, I prefer to go by Shay (It's easier to pronounce)! I spent most of my professional career in a clinical setting as a Substance Abuse Counselor. However, while I was a counselor, I I grew to enjoy tutoring and mentoring. I considered this to fall into the job description category of, "other duties as needed." I enjoyed it so much that it became a pretty big part of my informal job description. In 2014, I resigned my position as a Counselor to pursue Teaching and Training. My Counseling clients were very sad, but my students were very happy. I believe tutoring is a great and rewarding way to help students reach their goals. I help students who need individual attention. I especially like helping those who are non-traditional learners who may need additional support to maximize their time in the classroom or during exams.
