Experience
I'm a tutor who believes in first learning what the student's strengths and weaknesses are. These can be used to determine the most appropriate plan for studying and learning. In addition, I'm passionate and eager to share my knowledge and experience. This makes tutoring interesting for the students and myself. As an undergraduate, I worked as a teacher's assistant. I taught an upper division biology course and, beyond this, spent two years as a resident assistant. An academic and personal guide and mentor for many of my peers, my personal strengths include genetics, ecology, evolution, biological anthropology, and archaeology. I got to explore these topics more when studying in Kenya, especially when I explored the ecologically, geologically, and archaeologically unique region of Turkana. At Stony Brook University, I studied biology and anthropology and earned a double Bachelor of Science in these fields. I also worked as an undergraduate researcher in a population genetics laboratory. In the future, I hope to get a PhD in human evolutionary biology and will soon work as a laboratory assistant at the University of Michigan.I also take time out to spend with family, friends, and my dogs and cats or walk nature trails.
