Experience
With my relevant academic history - studying a rigorous Physiology curriculum and applying concepts in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and anatomy and physiology – I am confident in my aptitude to effectively aid in current students’ understanding math and science concepts. As a tutor, I would utilize my extensive experience, bring my positive attitude, and display exceptional expertise in teaching concepts and applications with students. I possess excellent social and communicative skills, and enjoy the challenge of helping students understand academic material and advance in their studies. I have always believed that the highest degree of understanding any academic concept is when you are able to effectively teach it. And, likewise, I owe a great deal of my own academic success to my habit of teaching curriculum to fellow classmates for test preparation. I also believe that every student has the ability to learn and understand any concept, as long as it is explained to them in a way that makes sense in their own mind. It is this detail and challenge that I keep in mind – that every student’s mind ticks in it’s own way, and that concepts must be explained to them within the boundaries of their own personal brainwave – when taking on new students and challenging subjects.

Hobbies
I enjoy being active and engaged, whether it be at my place of work or while taking on an independent project. I like to read and enjoy learning new things as much as I can; I am currently teaching myself Spanish and am always learning new songs to play on my guitar. And I love to be social, whether it is with a group of friends or with new people, I am always welcoming to listen and learn about different perspectives and new points of view. I have always had a keen interest for teaching and an enjoyment in furthering my education and learning as much as I can. Teaching is an exciting and challenging task for many reasons, which makes it all the more fun for me. As I have mentioned previously, every student is different. The first and most crucial step in teaching any student is to recognize them as the individual that they are, and to do my best get to know and understand their unique minds and personalities. So many kids fall behind in school because of the institutionalized nature of the public education system, and I strive to be an enthusiastic and driven part of a solution to this. Once I uncover a students interests and strengths, it is that much easier to construct a lesson plan tailored to their mental mechanics. Watching students grow – observing concepts click in their minds and watching them apply those concepts independently – is one of the most exciting things to witness as a teacher. And, likewise, watching a student’s work pay off – getting an A on that test or bringing home that awesome report card – is one of the best experiences; when the student sees, for the first time, after putting in all the hard work and staying dedicated, that it pays off in the end. It is one of the greatest work ethic and character builders that will prove useful when applied in most any other instance in life.
