Experience
I attended the University of Notre Dame for my undergraduate work, where I earned a BS in Environmental Sciences, along with a minor in Anthropology. Following that, I went on to earn my master's degree in Biology, this time studying at Arizona State University. Now, I split my time between teaching undergrads in biology at ASU, and researching various issues in aquatic ecology. Because I have learned to understand how patterns of the environmental processes connect in aquatic ecosystems, I am driven to be an ecologist. I also enjoy teaching, and am able to tutor students in all types of science subjects, like biology, ecology, and anatomy. I also am available to tutor in various English and writing classes, and am great at helping students prepare for standardized tests such as the ACT or GRE. Because I understand that each student is an individual, I design tutoring sessions to reflect each student's best learning methods. I enjoy taking the time to learn with them what method that is, and then we make a great study team. Along with content, I sneak in study skills like time management and organization. Some other interests I have are creating art and spending time outdoors in the sun.
