Education

Junior in Civil Engineering at ASU 3.2 GPA John Paul II HS in Plano Texas (private catholic college prep school) GPA 3.14 I have taken many SAT/ACT prep classes in high school. I took 3 years of java computer science in high school and a semester of C++ in college. I also have multiple classes involving MATLAB so I'm more than able to assist with learning programming.

Experience

I took 3 years of java computer science in high school and a semester of C++ in college. I also have multiple classes involving MATLAB so I'm more than able to assist with learning programming. I help my friends with physics and calculus who are not engineers. They previously struggled with math but now are seeing new patterns giving them a new understanding of math. I've completed all my math and science pre-req classes and completed ASU’s civil engineering mechanics project which is 9 credits of statics, dynamics, and deformable solids making me an excellent resource in various levels of math including calculus, trigonometry, differential equations, and linear algebra as well as applying them to real world mechanical systems. Since I have taken many physics classes in the past few years I think I can provide a wider understanding of physics problems to give the student an understanding of how to go about setting up and solving a problem rather than just an answer. I also have taken a multitude of sat and act prep classes so I believe I can be a great resource to help with test taking. I've been tutored in college for many of my STEM classes and I think having peer tutoring can be a great help.

Hobbies

The past 2 semesters I was the sustainability chair of EPIC Mangos which was a student group with the intent of creating a mango peeler and dryer that required no water or electricity so it could be used in rural Kenya. I also enjoy hiking, soccer, and white water kayaking. I spend the small amounts of free time I have in college playing soccer for my intramural team. I believe school is very important and I really enjoy seeing math and physics in my daily life.
