Experience
I've spent most of my life in native Tucson. All of my higher ed degrees are from the University of Arizona, where my father taught in the Business Department for over two decades. I received a degree in piano performance, and a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Arts, and a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature. I wrote my dissertation on Micer Francisco Imperial, a Genoese medieval poet from Sevilla. I'm especially drawn to visionary medieval literature, which has also worked its way into my academic pursuits. I enjoy passing my enthusiasm onto my students. I've taught Spanish in a variety of university settings from 2005 to the present. I have taught at the University of Arizona, and I was a visiting faculty member at Arizona State University and the University of Arkansas. I teach Spanish Literature, Language, and Culture at all levels (from introductory to the doctorate level). I've taught Advanced Placement, as well. Some of my interests include live music, classical music, and piano. I occasionally sing in choirs, and I love to read. I like staying involved with my community at church. I love to hike and spend time in nature. I'm currently based in Tempe, but I have family in both Phoenix and Tucson.
